One of the recipes prepared with Home Economics Students in years 7-10
Main - Ingredients
200 g beef strips
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 shakes pepper
1 teaspoon garlic
1 onion, quartered
1/2 green capsicum
1 tomato, diced
2 lettuce leaves
2 small rounds pita bread
1 tablespoon yoghurt
Slice beef into 2 cm lengths.
Mix soy sauce, pepper & garlic in a small bowl to make marinade. Add meat & allow to marinate for as long as possible.
Peel onions, cut into quarters & separate.
Parboil onions by placing in a small saucepan of boiling water for 30 seconds. Remove
Cut capsicum into 3cm cubes.
Thread ingredients on skewers, alternating meat, capsicum & onion.
Preheat griller and when hot grill skewered meat, turning frequently, brushing with oil
Dice tomato & shred lettuce.
Slip cooked meat & vegetables from skewer and place on your pita bread. Place the yoghurt on top. Add lettuce & tomato.
Roll the pita bread around the filling.
